Proust told me -1

The one thing more difficult than following a regimen is not imposing it on others.

This is the first post of my Proust for everyday series in which I intend to cover significant quotations from Marcel Proust’s books, which have made an impression on me.

  1. So true. How many people do we all know who can’t stop proselytizing to others about whatever lifestyle/diet/exercise routine/philosophy they follow… all “for our own good”, of course! 😉

A friend of mine once told a well-meaning but pushy relative “Just let me go to hell in a handbasket in my own way, okay?” LOL

  2. My mother says the same thing whenever I ask her to go for a morning walk or to cut down on carbohydrates. She says with indignation “Let me enjoy what I can cook till I have teeth , at least.”
